Creative Director

U.S. Department of State, Office of Secretary Clinton – Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves Exhibit and Report

The Clinton Global Initiative partnered with The Global Alliance for Clean Cookstoves, spearheaded by José Andrés, to “save lives, improve livelihoods, empower women, and combat climate change by creating a thriving global marketplace for clean cookstoves and fuels.” This awareness campaign and exhibit aimed to educate about this almost unknown global health threat, specifically to women and children, and define how the challenge could be answered though global awareness, leadership and support.

Concept: Present the problem as cause/effect, and deliver a call-to-action through “Challenge vs Solution.” Create an information/content hierarchy using typographic emphasis to present compelling statistics from the report in a clear way. Use textural visual imagery of smoke and pollution to elicit a visceral reaction.

Role: Art Director and designer of all aspects of brand and graphic design (except for logo design), exhibit posters, banners, and progress report in print and pdf. Worked directly with the Office of the Secretary of State.

Audience: Global partners and sponsoring companies; dignitaries and visitors to the State Department
